Our purpose

Practical support for everyday independence.

Mobility affects almost every part of daily life: getting to a medical appointment, preparing a meal, attending school, visiting family, or participating in work and community life. When someone lacks a suitable wheelchair or other mobility equipment, ordinary tasks can become unsafe, expensive, or impossible. Free Mobility exists to help close that gap with practical support and a respectful, human process.

We accept donations, purchase mobility equipment, and deliver it free to approved recipients. Our work is grounded in dignity, careful stewardship, and listening to the people and communities we serve. We do not believe a person should have to choose between essential equipment and rent, food, medication, or transportation.

How we work

We keep our role clear. We listen to an applicant's needs, review the information provided, consider equipment availability and suitability, and coordinate the next step when resources allow. Every request is different, and approval does not promise a particular model, delivery date, or outcome. It does promise that the request will be treated seriously and respectfully.

Donors make this work possible. Gifts help us source equipment, coordinate logistics, communicate with applicants, and maintain the basic operations required to serve people responsibly. We aim to use funds thoughtfully and to explain our work in plain language as the organization grows.

Our future

As we grow, we plan to strengthen referral partnerships, expand reach beyond the communities we currently serve, and publish clearer updates about our work and finances. We want clinicians, social workers, caregivers, disability organizations, equipment providers, volunteers, and donors to see a reliable partner that follows through and keeps learning.

Free Mobility is still building. That makes honest communication especially important. We will share what we can support, where capacity is limited, and how people can help improve access. Our goal is not simply to distribute equipment; it is to support more people in moving through the world with safety, choice, and greater independence.
