Who can apply?
People who need mobility equipment and cannot reasonably access it on their own may apply. We review each request individually and consider the information provided, equipment fit, location, and available resources.
Does applying guarantee equipment?
No. An application helps us understand the need, but assistance depends on eligibility, equipment fit, available resources, safe fulfillment, and our ability to serve the applicant’s location.
What information should I include?
Please share your full name, reliable contact details, city or ZIP code, and a clear description of the mobility support you need. Do not send medical records or sensitive information that is not necessary for an initial review.
How long does an application review take?
Review timing can vary based on application volume, equipment availability, and the information we need to confirm. If we need clarification, our team will contact you using the details provided.
Can organizations refer someone?
Yes. Clinicians, social workers, community groups, caregivers, and families can contact us about a potential referral. The person receiving support should be involved in the request and the information shared should be limited to what is needed.
How are donations used?
Gifts support mobility equipment, delivery, repairs, program coordination, and necessary nonprofit operations. We aim to direct each gift where it can support access and communicate clearly as our work grows.
Can I choose how my donation is used?
You may include a campaign or purpose when giving, but gifts may be used where the need is greatest unless a restriction is formally accepted by Free Mobility. Our Free Wheelchair Access Fund supports equipment access and related delivery needs.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Free Mobility Inc. is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. EIN 30-1502620. Please retain your donation receipt and consult your tax adviser about your circumstances.
What payment methods do you accept?
Our donation form accepts card payments through Stripe. Enter a valid donation amount between $5 and $1,000 and a working email address so the card form and receipt details can be prepared.
How can I ask about accessibility?
If a page, form, image, or interaction is difficult to use, contact hello@freemobility.org with the page address and a description of the barrier. We will work to provide a reasonable alternative.
