Impact & transparency

Show the work.
Earn trust.

We are building a nonprofit that communicates plainly about what we do, what we are learning, and how donor support is used.

Our commitment

Accountability is part of service.

Free Mobility measures impact by looking beyond the number of boxes delivered. A wheelchair matters because of what it makes possible: a safer trip to a clinic, a return to work, time with family, participation in school, or a greater sense of control at home. We are building systems that help us understand those outcomes while remaining honest about what we can and cannot yet measure.

Donations are directed to a general mobility fund that supports equipment, delivery, and necessary operating costs. A general fund allows us to respond to real needs rather than limiting every gift to a narrow promise. It may help purchase equipment, cover transportation, support communication with applicants, or maintain the basic operations required to review requests and coordinate service. We explain that structure clearly because donors deserve to know how their support works.

What we report

As our programs develop, we intend to publish timely updates about requests received, applications reviewed, equipment provided, communities reached, and partnerships formed. We will also describe challenges, delays, and changes in approach. Not every month will produce the same results. Equipment availability, transportation, funding, and the complexity of an applicant's needs can all affect the pace of service.

Good reporting does not hide difficult information behind impressive totals. It gives context. We want donors to understand whether a number represents a completed delivery, a referral, a pending request, or an investment in future capacity. We will use plain language, distinguish goals from results, and avoid presenting estimates as if they were completed work.

Responsible use of donations

Free Mobility Inc. is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. EIN 30-1502620. Questions about giving or our work are welcome. Donations are used to advance our charitable purpose, and necessary operating expenses are part of delivering that purpose responsibly. Secure payment processing, communication, recordkeeping, transportation, and administrative support help the organization serve people consistently.

We aim to make decisions based on need, suitability, safety, available resources, and the likelihood that support will address a meaningful barrier. We do not believe the loudest request should automatically receive the fastest answer. We are working toward a process that is fair, documented, and understandable. When we cannot provide equipment directly, we will try to communicate that clearly and point people toward other credible resources.

Listening to the people we serve

Impact is incomplete if it is defined only by the organization. Applicants and recipients understand barriers that may not appear in a spreadsheet: inaccessible entrances, unreliable transportation, long repair waits, confusing forms, and the emotional cost of repeatedly asking for help. We want feedback from people with disabilities, caregivers, clinicians, advocates, and community partners to shape our priorities.

Listening also means changing course. If an application question creates an unnecessary barrier, we should revise it. If a delivery process excludes rural households, we should study alternatives. If an equipment partnership does not meet our standards, we should address the problem rather than protect a convenient relationship. Transparency gives us a reason to improve, not just a way to describe what we already do.

Building trust over time

Trust is earned through repeated, ordinary actions: answering questions, keeping records, protecting private information, acknowledging uncertainty, and following through on commitments. We will not claim that every donation immediately becomes a wheelchair, because effective service also requires assessment, coordination, storage, delivery, and follow-up. We will explain those steps and show how they connect to the mission.

We also recognize that trust requires financial discipline. As the organization grows, we will review spending, document approvals, maintain appropriate controls, and publish information that helps donors understand the relationship between revenue and programs. We will seek expertise when a question involves clinical safety, compliance, finance, or accessibility. Responsible growth is more valuable than rapid growth that leaves people without dependable support.

What success looks like

Success means a person can move through daily life with greater safety and choice. It may look like attending a medical appointment without borrowing unsafe equipment, entering a workplace, visiting a loved one, or remaining connected to a community. It may also look like a family receiving a clear answer and a useful referral when our resources are not the right fit.

Over time, we hope to see shorter waits, stronger referral relationships, better repair pathways, and broader access in communities that are often overlooked. We will use both numbers and stories—with permission and respect—to understand whether our work is contributing to those changes. Stories should never be used to exploit someone's circumstances; they should help people see the human meaning behind responsible service.

For donors and partners

If you support Free Mobility, you are helping build more than a delivery program. You are supporting a network of people and practices that can make mobility assistance more dependable. We invite questions about our programs, fundraising, and reporting. Partners can help by sharing local knowledge, referring applicants, offering professional guidance, and identifying practical ways to improve access.

Our promise is not perfection. It is clarity, care, and a willingness to keep learning. We will continue publishing updates as our programs develop and will treat accountability as part of the service itself. When donors know what their support makes possible, applicants are treated with dignity, and partners can see where their work fits, the entire mobility community is stronger.
