How it works
From a request
to more freedom.
We keep our process straightforward: understand the need, identify appropriate equipment, and coordinate a safe delivery when resources allow.

A clear process
Careful, human, and transparent.
Applying for mobility equipment should not feel like navigating a maze. Our process begins with a conversation about the person's circumstances, current mobility, and the equipment that may help. The application asks for practical information so our team can understand the request without reducing someone's story to a checkbox.
1. Share the need
Applicants or people helping them complete the online form with contact information, location, mobility needs, and relevant circumstances. A caregiver, family member, social worker, or trusted organization may help submit an application. Please provide accurate information and explain any urgency so we can communicate responsibly.
2. We review the request
Applicants share information about their mobility needs and circumstances. We may ask for supporting details so we can understand fit, safety, and urgency. Each request is reviewed individually. We consider the information provided, the type of equipment requested, availability, delivery considerations, and the resources currently available to the organization.
3. We communicate next steps
We contact the applicant using the information supplied. A request may be approved, placed on a waiting list, referred to another resource, or require more information. Approval is not a guarantee that a particular model or delivery date is available. If we cannot meet a request, we want to communicate that clearly rather than create false expectations.
4. Equipment and delivery
When a request is approved and equipment is available, we coordinate sourcing and delivery. Equipment must be appropriate for the intended use and handled with care. Depending on the circumstances, delivery may require coordination with a caregiver, provider, community partner, or local contact. Donations support equipment, logistics, communication, and responsible nonprofit operations.
What applicants should know
Free Mobility does not replace a medical professional, therapist, insurance provider, or emergency service. Applicants should seek clinical guidance when they need help selecting safe equipment. If a situation is urgent or unsafe, contact local emergency or health services. We also ask applicants to keep their contact details current so our team can reach them.
Our process will continue to improve as we learn from applicants and partners. We value clear communication, privacy, dignity, and realistic expectations at every stage.
